How do I setup Duo Security?

These instructions are for faculty, staff, or student who may be encountering Duo Security for the very first time or who are setting up Push notifications for the first time.

  1. Install the Duo Mobile app from your mobile app store (i.e. Apple App Store, Google Play Store).
  2. Log into a service that requires Duo like myBucknell or Bmail. Enter your Bucknell Credentials
  3. Select Next on the Duo Security Welcome screen

     
  4. You will be prompted with some security information. Read the information and select Next

  6. Select Duo Mobile on the Select an option screen
  7. Enter your new phone number in the Phone number field 

    • Tablet/iPad: Select I have a tablet at the bottom of the screen 

  8. Verify your number is correct and select Yes, it's correct

  9. Download the Duo Mobile App and select Next

     
  10. The next step will vary depending on what device you started the reactivation process on.

Add your Account to Duo Mobile App

If you started this process using a computer to do the first 10 steps continue with the steps below

  1. Switch to your smartphone. 
  2. On your smartphone,  open your Duo Mobile App (enable camera if asked).
    • If you do not have an account listed click on Add Account (+)
  3. Click on Use QR code   

     
  4. Go back to your computer and hold your smartphone up to the screen to scan the QR code.
       
     
  5. When the QR code is successfully scanned you will see an account pop up in Duo Mobile. Save the account.

     
  6. Congratulations! You have successfully reauthenticated Duo.

If you started this process using a mobile device to do the first 10 steps continue with the steps below

  1. Select Continue

     
  2. Save the account
  3. Congratulations! You have successfully reauthenticated Duo.
