How do I set up Duo Security?

These instructions are for faculty, staff or student who may be encountering Duo Security for the very first time or who are setting up Push notifications for the first time.

  1. Install the Duo Mobile app from your mobile app store (i.e. Apple App Store, Google Play Store). Log into a service that requires Duo like myBucknell or Bmail. After you enter your username and password, click on the Add a new device link on the left side of the page. 
  2. Select Mobile phone.  Press Continue
  3. Enter and confirm your telephone number. 
  4. Select the type of smartphone you have.  Note: If you have an iPhone, select iPhone.  If you have an Android Phone, select Android. If you do not know what kind of phone you have, please contact the Tech Desk for assistance. Press Continue
  5. Install the app on your smartphone.  When you have completed the install, press I have Duo Mobile installed
  6. Launch the app on your smartphone. Tap the + button and then point your smartphone camera at the barcode on your computer screen.  NOTE: If you are prompted to Allow Duo Mobile to take pictures and record video, you must select Allow. If you select Deny, you will not be able to take a picture of the barcode.2016-01-28_8-43-42
  7. When the barcode has been accepted, a green checkmark will appear.  Press Continue2016-01-28_8-44-08
  8. Select your default device in the drop down menu.  Press Save.
