Does Bucknell have a pro-Amazon bias?
No. We’re using the Amazon Echo for this pilot because they are fully compatible with the current Bucknell wireless network infrastructure. We did not want to demonstrate something that you couldn’t implement in your dorm room today if you wished.
Please note that L&IT has not yet tested Amazon Echo Spot on campus.
L&IT is also doing prototype development on Google’s platform that includes as user endpoints both the Home device as well as smartphones.
