To resolve this we must make one-time edit to a registry entry:

  1. Run Make Me Admin from Start Menu to elevate Grant Administrator Rights temporarily

  2. Right-click on the Start Menu and choose Terminal (Admin)

  3. Enter Bucknell username/password

  4. A Windows Powershell windows will open, make sure the tab name starts with Administrator

  5. Change the directory (CD) to where the RemoteApp rdp files were saved to

  6. Type the first few letters of the file you want to run and press Tab to auto complete the name. It will also pre-pend the command with & and .\.   If there are spaces in the file name, it will also enclose the name in single quotes, as shown in the screenshot below.

  7. If the command window looks like this, just press enter and sign into the remote session.   Check the allow RDP access check

  8. You’ll see a security warning screen. Ensure the remote computer name is RDP-Gateway.bucknell.edu. You can allow or not allow any of the services lists, depending on what you need from the remote application. Click Connect to  launch.

  9. Users should test by closing out the application and running it again from the .rdp shortcut.
