On some computers, particularly newly imaged ones, users may see error when attempting to run a Remote Applications - saying it was disconnected because license store creation failed with access denied.

Steps to resolve the Remote App Connection Denied Error"
To resolve this we must make one-time edit to a registry entry:
-
Run Make Me Admin from Start Menu to elevate Grant Administrator Rights temporarily
-
Right-click on the Start Menu and choose Terminal (Admin)
-
Enter Bucknell username/password
-
A Windows Powershell windows will open, make sure the tab name starts with Administrator
-
Change the directory (CD) to where the RemoteApp rdp files were saved to
-
Type the first few letters of the file you want to run and press Tab to auto complete the name. It will also pre-pend the command with & and .\. If there are spaces in the file name, it will also enclose the name in single quotes, as shown in the screenshot below.

-
If the command window looks like this, just press enter and sign into the remote session. Check the allow RDP access check

-
You’ll see a security warning screen. Ensure the remote computer name is RDP-Gateway.bucknell.edu. You can allow or not allow any of the services lists, depending on what you need from the remote application. Click Connect to launch.

-
Users should test by closing out the application and running it again from the .rdp shortcut.
