How do I set up a Bucknell-owned iPad?

Setting up your Bucknell-owned iPad

  1. Plug in the ipad 
  2. Turn your iPad on
  3. A screen should appear like the image below:

  4. Click on Set up Manually located at the bottom of the screen
  5. Select a language
  6. Join a network (Bucknell.edu or home network)
  7. Click on Do not transfer Apps and Data
    Apps & Data with Don't Transfer Apps & Data option
     
  8. A Remote Management screen should display that looks like the image below:

  9. Click next and proceed with the initial startup questions, and
  10. When it’s done, the Bucknell standard apps (plus any additional apps you specified) will be installed over the next 5-20 minutes, depending on the speed of the client’s connection. It should end up looking something like this:

What Are The Standard Apps?

  • Google Apps, consisting of Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Bucknell Apps, consisting of the myBucknell App, the Solstice projection client, the Sharelink projection client, and a link to AskLIT
  • Zoom

What Is The Standard Security Package?

The following security standards have been implemented:

  • 6 character strong passcode
  • Locks after 2 minutes
  • iCloud is unavailable
  • Encrypted backups
  • Can install apps associated with their own AppleID
  • Remotely wipe device if lost/stolen
