NameCoach FAQ

What is NameCoach?

NameCoach is a tool designed to help faculty, students, and staff learn how to pronounce the names of other members of the campus community. Use it both to record your own name and to listen to name recordings made by others.
Once you record your name, the recording will be available via the NameCoach tool via Moodle courses and the Online Directory.

How do I record my name pronunciation?

You can record your name by using the link available in the Profile section of myBucknell or by visiting http://pronounce.bucknell.edu. If you are not already logged in you will be prompted to login with your Bucknell username and password. You will be taken to the following screen the first time you login.

You can manage your recording in the Your Recording Section.

Your NameBadge section allows you to publish a NameBadge that can be used on LinkedIn, social media and in your email signature.

How do I share my name pronunciation in my email signature or on social media?

To share your name pronunciation you will use the NameBadge feature of NameCoach. Once you've recorded your name, NameCoach creates a NameBadge that you can add to your email signature and share on social media services, such as LinkedIn, to help others learn to pronounce your name. Your NameBadge recording is the same one used in Moodle, myBucknell’s Online Directory and on Bucknell’s NameCoach website.

To share your NameBadge:

Go to the Bucknell NameCoach website at http://pronounce.bucknell.edu, and then click Record & share.

On your dashboard, under "Your NameBadge", use either of the following options:

  • Publish your NameBadge:
    • Use this tab to copy the web address of your "My NameBadge" page so you can paste it into your email signature and/or social media profile(s). Click Copy Link to copy the web address to your clipboard.
  • Add NameBadge to your Email Signature
    • Use this tab to copy a graphical NameBadge button that links to your "My NameBadge" page so you can paste it into your Bmail signature.
