Using NameCoach, Bucknell students, faculty, and staff members can record the pronunciation of their names. Those pronunciations can then be available within a Moodle course, so that people enrolled in the course can hear participants pronouncing their own name. To add the NameCoach unified tool (allowing for course members to record their names and for the people enrolled in the course to listen to those recordings) to your Moodle course:
- Log in to Moodle at https://moodle.bucknell.edu (link opens in new window).
- Click on the link for your course. You will most likely find it in the Current Course List module on the right-hand side of the main Moodle page, in the "Current courses" category.
- If Edit mode is not on yet, click on the
button to allow you to make changes to your course.
- It makes the most sense to add the link to the "Name Pronunciations" roster in the "zero block" at the top of the Moodle course, so click on the
link at the bottom of that main topic block.
- NameCoach is an "External Tool" in Moodle, so click on the "External Tool" icon in the alphabetical list of activities and resources:

- For the "Activity name" field, you could type in "NameCoach," although another possibility would be "Name Pronunciations":

- NameCoach is one of our "Preconfigured tools," so click on the drop-down box (that currently says "Automatic, based on tool URL"), and click on "Name Coach Roster - Unified Tool" among the alphabetical list of tools:

- You don't need to worry about any of the other settings, so scroll down on the page, and click on the
button.
- The tool as you named it will now appear at the bottom of the topic area that you selected when clicking on the "Add and activity or resource" link. If you click on the link for the tool, it will actually take you to the NameCoach roster tool:

- If you haven't recorded your name yet, you will see a
button that you can click on to record your name using either your phone or the microphone on your computer. If you have already recorded your name in NameCoach, you will see a
button to allow you to listen to the recording, along with an
button that allows you to change the recording, if necessary.
- If you scroll down on the page, you will see a list of the people in the course who have recorded their name pronunciations. You can click on the purple play button (with the name in white text) to listen to the name pronunciation of the people in the course:

- You can use the "bread-crumb trail" (the grey banner at the top of the page) to return to the main page for the course:
