Off-Campus Internet Resources
If you have no internet or slow Internet you may need to seek out free Internet options. Your community may have many resources available for Internet connectivity.
Note: when connected to an ‘open’ wifi network, please use the Bucknell VPN. When connected to the Bucknell VPN, all network traffic is encrypted and routed through Lewisburg protecting your on-line activities. Use caution in sharing personal and financial data when connected to public or 'open' wifi networks without the protection of a VPN.
- Local College or University:
- Eduroam: a service that allows you to use your Bucknell credentials to connect to wireless networks at other colleges and universities. To find locations where Eduroam is used, please check out this map. For more information on Eduroam and how to connect, please refer to Ask article, "How do I use eduroam?"
- Guest Network: a network is specifically for guests who visit local colleges and universities.
- Public Library
- Local Coffee Shop or Fast Food Restaurants (i.e. McDonald's, Starbucks, etc.)
- Museum
- Medical Center/Hospital
- Stores (Target, Lowes, Best Buy, etc.)
- You may want to check with your local ISP to see if they have any special deals for education.
