How do I send a message to my Google Group?

Summary

Sending email to a Google Group

Body

If you have permission to post to a Google Group, you can send two different ways. You can either post a message from the group itself or you can post from your Bmail inbox. Both work exactly the same, but if you post from the group itself, you can immediately see your posting in the group Conversations list.

Post from the group

  1. From your Bmail inbox, click the apps launcher button in the top right corner.
  2. Find and select GroupsGmail app icon with Groups option
  3. In My Groups, find the group you want to use and click on the group name.
  4. Click the New conversation button. New conversation in Groups app
  5. Type your message and click Post message at the bottom.
  6. If moderation is turned on for your group, approve the message from Pending or the moderation notification in your inbox.

Post from your inbox

  1. From your Bmail inbox, click Compose.
  2. Type the email address of the Google Group in the To: field. Compose email with Google group as receiver
  3. Type your message and click Send at the bottom.
  4. If moderation is turned on for your group, approve the message from Pending in the group or the moderation notification in your inbox.

To request a Google Group, go to Google Group or Delegated Email Account Request and complete the request form.
