CrashPlan constantly, automatically backs up your files. If you are using a low speed or high cost internet connect, you may wish to pause CrashPlan. For example, if you are using a smartphone or personal mobile wireless access device that does not offer unlimited data, you should pause your backup until you have a faster or less expensive connection to the Internet.
To pause CrashPlan, open the application or system tray icon (on Linux office computers, run sudo CrashPlanDesktop)
Click Pause Backups in the CrashPlan app window or select a pause duration in the settings when opening CrashPlan from the system tray (lower right corner).
