How to Transfer Data from a Bmail Account to a Personal Gmail Account

NOTE: This process applies only to student and alumni Bmail accounts!

Google provides a method to easily transfer email, documents and photos from your Bmail account to a Google account.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure you have enough storage space in the destination account before starting this process.

  1.  Visit https://takeout.google.com/transfer
  2. Sign into your Bmail account, making sure to include your entire address (with @bucknell.edu at the end)

  3. Authenticate with Bucknell as you normally would.
  4. Type in the Gmail account you want to transfer to and select Send Code. You will receive an email in that account that will be used as verification

  5. Enter the code to verify the destination account.

  6. Select the information you would like transferred from your Bmail account to the destination Google account and select Start Transfer.

That's all there is to it! You will get an email confirmation in the destination account when the transfer begins and when it ends. Please be patient, as it can take several days for the process to complete.

NOTE: Any transfers initiated before losing access to your account will complete even after it has been closed.
