Does SMS support end-to-end encryption?
No. Zoom Phone does not support end-to-end encryption. Please do not send any confidential information through SMS messaging.
 

When I send an SMS message, will the recipient receive an option to Opt-Out of receiving messages from me?
Yes. An Opt-In message is the first message that will be sent to the recipient to request opt-in consent. “Text START to opt in. For help, reply HELP. To opt out, reply STOP". 
 

Additional content will be included at the end of the message(s) to the recipient. "For help, reply HELP. To opt out, reply STOP."
 

Can I send and receive messages from my desk phone?
No. You can use the Zoom Workplace desktop app or the mobile app.

What is the character limit?
Each message can contain up to 500 characters. However, each SMS message can contain up to 160 characters as this is the standard SMS character limit. When sending a message longer than 160 characters, Zoom will automatically segment the message. You will see a single message on the Zoom Workplace desktop app or mobile app, but your recipient may see several messages.

Can I send and receive messages from the web portal?
No, you can only send and receive messages using the Zoom Workplace desktop app or mobile app.
