This article goes over browser best practices, including adding, finding, and removing bookmarks and signing into browsers to make it easier to move bookmarks or access bookmarks when on a different computer or when you get a computer replacement. in all different browsers.

Logging into your browser, such as Chrome, enables you to synchronize your browsing data across all your devices, whether you're using a loaner computer or a new one. This means that your bookmarks, passwords, browsing history, and settings will be easily accessible, allowing you to continue where you left off on another device.ere you left off on another device.

How do I create a bookmark?

  1. Navigate to the website that you would like to bookmark.
  2. Click the star in the URL bar at the top of your screen

  3. A small screen will appear asking you to name your bookmark. Click "Done" after naming the bookmark.

Where are my bookmarks located?

  1. One place to find your bookmarks is on a new tab in the top right hand corner where is says "All Bookmarks." This will bring up a small menu where you can click on any of your previously saved bookmarks.

  2. To find your bookmarks while you are on a website, click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of your screen.

  3. Click "Bookmarks and Lists."

  4. This option will bring a small menu that you can do many things with. You can bookmark tabs, bookmark all of your tabs, enable the bookmarks bar (which will allow you to see them all the time), and view your bookmark lists.

How do I edit a bookmark?

To edit a bookmark, navigate to your bookmark list and hover your mouse over the bookmark. Then, right click and click "edit" to change the URL address.

 

Safari (Mac)

How do I create a bookmark?

In Safari, there are two ways to make a bookmark.

  1. When you are on the webpage that you want to bookmark, click on the box with an up arrow in it.

  2. This will bring up a small menu where you will click "Add Bookmark."

  3. The other place to add a bookmark is at the top of your screen, there will be an option that says "Bookmarks" which will open a menu where you will have multiple options to choose from, depending on what you would like to do. To add a bookmark, click "Add Bookmark..."

Where can I find my bookmarks?

  1. Bookmarks in Safari can be found in the same spot as above. In the top left hand corner, click "Bookmarks" and then "Show Bookmarks."

  2. It will then pull up a menu on the left side of your screen. Click "Favorites." This will pull up any bookmarks that you have saved without moving the default location.

To edit a bookmark, navigate to your bookmark list and hover your mouse over the bookmark. Then, right click and click "edit" to change the URL address.

How do I create a bookmark?

  1. Navigate to the webpage that you would like to bookmark.
  2. In the top right hand corner of the browser, locate the 3 lines stacked on top of one another (hamburger menu) and click on it.

  3. This will open a small menu. Click "Bookmarks."

  5. You can also Bookmark a tab by navigating to the site you would like to bookmark and clicking on the star located in the URL bar.

Where can I find my bookmarks?

  1. In the top right hand corner of the browser, click on the three lines stacked on top of one another (hamburger menu).

  2. This will open a small menu. Click "Bookmarks."

  3. Under "Recent Bookmarks" you will find the sites that you have bookmarked.
