Why am I unable to access some Bucknell internal sites on my mac or other apple device?

Body

Is there a system outage?

One of the first places to check when having issues accessing an internal webpage is our Outages page. This will tell you if there is any planned or unplanned maintenance happening on systems.

Are you on bucknell.edu wifi?

Check your network. Be sure you are on bucknell.edu while on campus or using VPN from off campus and that you can access other sites like myBucknell. It is not uncommon for your network to switch to bucknell_guest or bucknell_IoT.

iCloud Private Relay

If you have tried steps 1 and 2, but they did not resolve your issue and you have a device on iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or macOS Monterey with an iCloud+ subscription then your computer could have a setting enabled called iCloud Private Relay that is preventing access to some internal Bucknell sites.

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can turn off iCloud Private Relay in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Private Relay.
  • On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Apple ID. Select iCloud > Private Relay.
