Zoom Phone Wall Installation

  1. Remove the phone from the wall by pulling up from the bottom of the phone.

  2. Remove the bracket from the Avaya phone by pressing the release button on the bracket.

  3. Remove the ethernet cable from the Avaya phone.

  4. Before connecting the ethernet cable to the Yealink phone, use the link runner to confirm the network connection is no longer on VLAN 400. If VLAN 400 is still present, use the script (https://134.82.79.62/no_voice_vlan) to remove VLAN 400 (for the script, please don’t use leading zeros in the IP address). If you don’t have a link runner, text 5705771970 and provide the mac address and building you are in so VLAN 400 can be removed. The phone will not work until VLAN 400 is removed.

  5. Attach the wall mount to the Yealink phone.

  6. Attach the handset to the side of the phone. Be sure to use the jack labeled ‘Phone’ (bottom jack).

  7. Connect the ethernet cable into the jack labeled ‘Internet’ on the back of the phone (right jack).

  8. Attach the Yealink phone to the wall jack by aligning the phone over the wall jack and sliding downward in place.

  9. The phone will flash red at the top right hand corner of the phone while obtaining the IP address and downloading the latest firmware before provisioning is completed. This will take approximately 5 minutes.

   10.  Confirm the date and time is correct. If it’s not, perform the
          following steps:
        -Select Menu
        -Select Settings
        -Basic Settings
        -Time & Date
        -SNTP Settings

        -Select Time Zone  -5
        -Save

    11. Place a 933 Call. Listen to the location that is read back to you. If
Location is incorrect, please report this to Peggy or Jake. It is very
Important you complete this step to ensure our E911 locations are
being identified correctly in Zoom Phone. If your extension is identified as
570-577-2100 this is okay. Common Area phones have a caller id of
570-577-2100. The actual extension will display when a call is made from one of
these phones to an on campus number.

    12. Return the old Avaya phones to the meadow in the Computer Center building for
    recycling.
