How do I create an Extended Absence Greeting for my voice mail in the Avaya phone system?

This is a 2 step process. First, you need to record the greeting, then you need to activate the greeting. This will not overwrite your current greeting. Your current greeting will continue to play until you activate the Extended Absence greeting.

Record your Extended Absence Greeting

1. Log into VM then press  8 2.
2. Choose your greeting type: 3-location, extended absence.
3. Follow prompts.

When you are ready to activate your extended absence greeting, follow the instructions below.

Activate Extended Absence Greeting

1. Log into VM then press 8 2 7.
2. Follow prompts to change your location to 'location, extended absence'.

• To allow callers to leave messages, press 1, to block callers from leaving messages, press 2.
• To allow callers to skip your greeting, press 1, to block callers from skipping your greeting, press 2.

Follow the instructions below to Deactivate your Extended Absence Greeting. When you deactivate the Extended Absence Greeting, your original greeting will play.

Deactivate Extended Absence Greeting

1. Log into VM then press 8 2 7
2. Follow prompts to change your location to 'in office'.
