How do I use Edit Dialing in the Avaya phone system?

Edit dialing works just like making a call on your cell phone – just start entering the number without hearing a dial tone.  You can correct or edit the phone number before you place the call.

Note: These instructions apply to any phone that does not use the Contact Center.

Activate Edit Dialing

1. Press the Home button on the touchpad
2. Press the Settings button on the screen
3. Choose Options & Settings
4. Choose Call Settings
5. Select Edit Dialing
6. Select Save
7. Press the Home button on the touchpad

Use Edit Dialing

1. From the Phone screen, enter the number you want to call.
2. To edit the number touch the backspace soft key to erase the previous character, one character at a time.
3. To move the cursor forward or backward use the Right or Left Arrow soft keys.
4. Touch Call or press Speaker, Headset or Lift the Handset to place the call.
