The following covers steps that you can follow to turn your wi-fi on or off on laptops from the list of Faculty/Staff Standard Computers at Bucknell. FIND YOUR LAPTOP ON THE LIST first, and then follow the instructions.
If your computer has Windows 10 installed on it, follow the instructions for Dell Latitude E5470/80/90 (first on the list below):
Dell Latitude E5470, E5480 and E5490
1. Find the wireless button on the bottom right of your screen (as seen in the red square below). Click it.
2. A box listing the available wireless connections will appear.
2. Click on Wireless Network (highlighted in Blue and showing wireless signal bars) to turn the network off.
- If the box is blue, wireless is on. If the box is gray, the wireless is off. You can click it once to turn it on or off.
NOTE: You can also use the "Airplane mode" button right next to it. It does the same thing, and will also disable Bluetooth on devices that have it. Airplane mode DOES NOT disable your wired/ethernet connection. Both these options are only for wireless. Below is a screenshot of what you will see when Airplane mode is enabled.
