How do I add a new CrashPlan backup set?

You can manage the files in your CrashPlan backup! If you store files in a non-standard location on your computer (anyplace other than your profile), you can create a new backup set to be sure those files are backed up.

NOTE: If you edit your backup set, your data may not be backed up and may not be recoverable in the event of a hardware loss or failure.  

To create a new backup set:

  1. Open CrashPlan. Login with your Bucknell username and Bucknell password.
  2. Open the File menu.  Select Add Backup Set...  File menu in top left corner along with Add Backup Set... option in
  3. Select Change to choose the files you want to backup.  Change option for File Selection row
  4. Navigate to the file location.  Check the box in front of the file or folder you want to include in the new backup set.  Folders checked off to backup with Save option in bottom right corner
  5. Select Change to choose where the files should be backed up.  Change option for Destination row
  6. Choose Internet2 US for an online backup or Add Local Destination if you have a backup drive. Select Save.  Internet2 US option or Add Local Destination option for choice of backup destination and click Save button in bottom right corner
  7. Select Add Set (see #3 in the screetshot) to add the backup set.  Click on blue Add Set button
  8. View your new backup set (see A in the screenshot)!  Second Backup Set displayed along with Default Backup Set
