Windows 11 Start Menu and Audio Selection Options in Labs and Classrooms

Summary

In fall 2023, all labs and classrooms moved to Windows 11. This article is designed to assist professors who might be unfamiliar with Windows 11 and who need to select audio outputs, find applications, or log off/restart computers.

In Windows 11, users see a different start menu to choose an application or to log off or restart the computer. There's also a different location to choose an audio output. 

To Open the Start Menu (to find your applications):

To sign out or switch user: click on blue button then click on round blue Bucknell University logo

To shut down or restart: click on the blue Start Button, then click on the open circle in the lower right corner

Assigning program audio to the proper source: Click the speaker icon in the lower right corner, then click on the icon at the right end of the volume bar to get to the audio source choices
