How do I turn on Zoom Live Transcription?

Zoom now supports live transcription for Zoom meetings.

First, the meeting host must turn on Live Transcription:

  • Go to bucknell.zoom.us and sign in to your Bucknell Zoom account.
  • Click on Settings.
  • Select In Meeting (Advanced)
  • Toggle Closed Captioning on
  • Check Enable live transcription service to show transcript on the side panel in-meeting.
  • Click the link to open the Zoom meeting invitation from your host (this may be in your email, calendar, Moodle, or the Zoom web page or Zoom app).
  • In the toolbar across the bottom of the Zoom, click the Live Transcript button and select Enable Live Transcription. (Note: if you cannot see the Live Transcript button, click the ... More to see additional items.)
  • Click the up arrow at the side of the Live Transcription button to change the settings.
    • Click View Full Transcript to open the whole transcript in the side panel or save the transcript.
    • Click Subtitle Settings to change the font size.

NOTE: The accuracy of the transcript may vary. If some meeting attendees have poor quality audio, the transcript may have missing or misidentified words. If multiple people speak at the same time, the transcript may display partial sentences or incorrectly attribute content to the wrong speaker.
